特斯拉公司的一份文件显示，特斯拉近期正在试图阻止美国国家公路交通安全管理局（NHTSA）披露其“自动驾驶”汽车碰撞相关的某些数据。
该服务由一个10至20辆Model Y组成的车队在奥斯汀市划定的电子围栏区域内提供网约车服务，公开发布这些信息可能会使竞争对手能够分析特斯拉各个版本的“自动驾驶”技术的有效性。并通过人工远程操控辅助运营。特斯拉预计将在本月在美国得克萨斯州奥斯汀市推出首个Robotaxi服务。
